CANADA POST BORDERFREE RECEIVES 2005 MAILING INDUSTRY AWARD TORONTO (November 2, 2005) - The National Association of Major Mail Users (NAMMU) awarded Canada Post Borderfree(TM) with a 2005 Mailing Industry Award that recognized the company's significant contribution to the mail channel. The award was presented by NAMMU president Kathleen Rowe, who praised the Borderfree initiative "... for the powerful and positive impact this will have on the revival and resurgence of the catalogue market in Canada, as well as activating new direct mail buyers for all marketers." "We are delighted to have received this award as it is a testament to the growing need of Canadians who want the convenience of shopping direct," said Patrick Bartlett, president of Borderfree. "By growing the channel and inciting Canadians to purchase goods through the mail, we are developing the infrastructure to support a thriving industry that will benefit mailers, list brokers, direct marketers, and ultimately, retailers taking advantage of their multi-channels to expand their market reach and maximize their bottom line." Borderfree's mandate is to stimulate and grow the Canadian direct shopping industry and provide a convenient, easy and secure way for consumers to access their favourite brands and a wide selection of merchandise from the comfort of their homes. Research conducted by Canada Post shows that in 2004, there were only 35 major mailers in Canada. To date, the number has more than doubled to more than 80 in 2005. About Canada Post Borderfree ![]()
